Geometry
March 11, 2012
Just posted a new graphic on the Home Page. I always enjoyed geometry in high school but could never fathom other forms of math logic. Here we have the method used by sailing ship masters for hundreds of years on Earth's oceans. There were no chronometers or even clocks worthy of the name to calculate longitude so ships would sail north or south until they reached their calculated latitude (using this same method), and then "run the latitude" to their destination, east or west. Cumbersome, but it was a lot better than jilling around and guessing.

Heating up
January 26, 2012
The arrival isn't far off in volume 7. It's going to be a slam dunk effect. Giving a lot of thought to the plot presentation.

Images

Cycling in some more images. The map has been displayed before, but I can't remember if the interior layout of the Gilnora was ever posted. Maybe not. I don't qualify as a naval architect, but the layout is close to what I envisioned while writing volume 2. Everything you would find in a boat is not depicted, but it's close. I really like the main salon.

Volume 7
December 4, 2011
The long holiday from writing has really paid off. I've now finished re-reading and editing volumes five and six (again) to come up to speed and ideas, this time, are pouring in. As a series progresses, any series, the plot line inevitably becomes more complicated if the author allows his character(s) to mature and grow in many dimensions, even as we hopefully do in the other reality of our lives. That's the beauty of a long series, and also the challenge - how to keep it all together, do justice to the characters, and ramp up the excitement. What a challenge, but it's coming together.

And so it starts, and welcome to all visitors.
Remember - there are six novels to go after Exile. This is just the start.
