I'll be traveling in SE Europe for a week or so in September gathering data for a later volume in the series. Very scenic country with a strong Roman background and a history that is the stuff of myths. Really looking forward to it.

Been a while since I've posted. Started working on volume six in the series here a month or so ago, but have stopped to reconsider a section that will be important later on. Back to work when it clarifies.

I've spent the last several weeks reviewing volumes 5 & 6 of The Alarai Chronicles in preparation for resuming work on volume 6 where I left off some time ago. Back to work now finishing volume 6 and moving on to 7. It's great.

I should have waited for a response from the Riverwalk Market Fair people here in Northfield before posting the last note. I was flat turned down for a booth on two Saturdays during the summer. No explanations given other than they had not planned for authors to display. What's to plan? We display books and art work associated with books. No food, no electricity, no waste. Every time you think something is a shoo in, look out!

If everything goes as planned, Ardent Publishing will man a booth at the Riverwalk Market Fair in Northfield, MN on two occasions this summer. I don't have specific dates at this writing, but we're hoping for one date in June and one in July. Should know within two weeks.

I'm going to post a HD PDF file on the Download Page shortly. It was originally intended to accompany Exile to the Stars. I created this image around 1998 or so from a line drawing. At that time I was trying to visualize what it would be like to be alone, one step away from being lost, in forested mountain country of such size that it rivals anything in our history. That is the country Jeff had to cross in the dead of winter in order to recruit tribesman.

The file was destroyed when my computer crashed some years ago, but I eventually found a hard copy, scanned it in, then spent several years off and on reconstructing what was lost. This is the result.
